Insurance

Liability insurance

All vehicles must be liability insured.

The insurance covers up to 100 million euros. Person damages are limited to 8 million euros per injured or dead person.

You are then able to choose a:

Comprehensive insurance

For older cars it is often not recommended to have a full comprehensive insurance. Therefor we recommend signing a comprehensive insurance which covers the following events:

theft, fire, explosion, storm, hail, lightning strike, flooding, game*, marten bite and glas damages.
*German „Haarwild“ = Bison, moose, red deer, fallow deer, roe deer, chamois, ibex goat, mule game, wild boar, grey hare, mountain hare, wild rabbits, marmot, wild cats, lynx, foxes, ermine, weasel, badger, fish otter and seals.

A comprehensive insurance is signed with:150 euros in self-insurance for cars & motorcycles and1000 euros in self-insurance for older cars & motorhomes.

The insurance does not cover damages you have caused yourself or damages which are caused by others who have rammed your car and fled the scene.

or a:

Full comprehensive insurance

We recommend a full comprehensive insurance for new and expensive vehicles. With older vehicles you should check how high the insurance-premium is in relation to the value of the vehicle.

A full comprehensive insurance is signed with:500 euros in self-insurance for cars & motorcycles and1000 euros in self-insurance for older cars & motorhomes.

In a full comprehensive insurance the comprehensive insurance is included. Besides what is covered in the comprehensive insurance the full comprehensive insurance also covers vandalism.

Fines

All tickets will be send to the IMC.

We send them back with information about who the driver is.

The IMC cannot pay fine outlays for members who have been fined for traffic offences.Traffic fines are being registered and counted and that would cause the members of the IMC’s board of directors to accumulate so many points that be board members will get “marks” in their drivers licence or even get it withdrawn.

Damages

All damages must be reported to the IMC. The IMC will then contact the insurance company.

Angelika is in charge of the claims department – contact
